Robert Hart attracted police attention on Thursday when Atlantic City Sgt. Charles Stuart and Detective Chris Dodson noticed Hart was driving with a suspended license, a police department spokesman said.

The Atlantic City patrol officers then saw Hart engage in a corner drug deal with a woman, according to reports.

After Hart was arrested and being walked to a patrol car on the 4300 block of North Drive, he reportedly started to resist, threatening Dodson while kicking the detective, police said.

Dodson was treated at the scene for an injury.

The toddler was turned over to her mother.

Hart was charged with several drug violations, money laundering, child endangerment, resisting arrest and two counts of assault on a patrol officer, according to police.

He was being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
